tenemoll

tenemoll is perfectly suited for the care of wool fibres because it contains lanolin. The lipid replenishing properties of lanolin are great for woolen fabrics because they are responsible for maintaining the fluffiness of wool fibres. Wool fibres lose some of their protective wool fat with every wash. Lanolin's role in nature is to protect wool and skin against the ravages of climate and the environment. By returning some of the lanolin with every wash tenemoll ensures that wool fibres stay fluffy longer. Lanolin can also be restored to woollen garments to make them water and dirt repellent.

Crude lanolin constitutes about 5–25% of the weight of freshly shorn wool. The wool from one Merino sheeip will produce about 250–300 ml of recoverable wool grease. Lanolin is extracted by washing the wool in hot water with a special wool scouring detergent to remove dirt, wool grease (crude lanolin), suint (sweat salts), and anything else stuck to the wool. The wool grease is continuously removed during this washing process by centrifuge separators, which concentrate it into a waxlike substance melting at approximately 38 °C (100 °F).

  • Is completely biodegradable and contains no phosphates or softeners, helping the woolen items to keep their original shape and prevent them from widening.
  • Is preserved by potassium sorbate which is known as a very eco-friendly preservative.
  • Does not contain chlorine, phosphates, bleach, optical brighteners, softeners or formaldehyde.
  • Does not contain any synthetics dyes.
  • Is very economical in use: using less washing agent is best for the environment!
